Hi, My personal note.
I was born in a small town in India with a curious mind and a passion for photography. Growing up, I was drawn to capturing the stories of marginalised communities and shedding light on their struggles. However, it wasn't until I stumbled upon the transgender community that my path as a photographer took a transformative turn. As I delved deeper into my work, I decided to use my photography as a medium for social change, to break down stereotypes and amplify the voices of the transgender community. In 2019 Kumb Mela, I curated the Art village in collaboration with Kinnar Akhara where photography, painting, mural art became platforms for storytelling, empowerment, and advocacy. This pioneer initiative called Kinnart Village evolved me into an "Artvist" - an artist and activist combined. My photoessay and other artist work at Kinnart Village became catalysts for conversations around gender identity, acceptance, and equality. Through their profound ability to blend art and activism, I have emerged as photo essayists. The Photo narrative “Reclaiming the lost spiritual Identity - Kinnar Akhara” & Curating this intersectional art space called (Kinnart Village) in religious gathering which not only transcends the boundaries of traditional photography exhibition, creating a tapestry of images that not only tell stories but ignite movements. Their unwavering commitment to social change through art has forever etched their name in the annals of artivism.
